Shanghai International Asset Management (Hong Kong) Company Limited ("SIAM") is incorporated in 1993 in Hong Kong and engaged in investment adviser services. Currently, it is a licensed corporation registered with the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong to carry out regulated activities in advising securities (Type 4) and asset management (Type 4). It is indirectly held by Shanghai International Group Corporation Limited, a state-owned financial institution in Shanghai managing a broad portfolio of state-owned assets and state-owned equity holdings in China under the control of the Shanghai Municipal government.
SIAM is appointed as the Investment Manager of a listed investment fund (Shanghai International Shanghai Growth Investment Limited) in Hong Kong whose primary investment focus is investing in companies having operations in the Mainland China and to invest in China-related listed securities.
SIAM is also appointed as the Investment Manager of an open-ended fund (SIAM Cross-Strait Investment Fund) incorporated and registered as a mutual fund in Cayman Island. The principal investment objective is is to achieve short and medium term capital appreciation by way of initial public offering or secondary offering of securities and convertible bonds issued by listed companies in Taiwan Stock Exchange or Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
